Jenna’s Birthday | Denver Colorado Birth Photography

by haley

On September 12th, I was sitting at my desk at work, a bit stressed preparing for an upcoming work conference at which I was presenting, plus I had been on my own for about a week. We were mid-move to Colorado and Bryan had left early to visit his siblings in Arizona. I stayed behind so I could be there for Jenna’s birth, but we were two days away from her due date and there was no guarantee she was going to come anytime soon. I had to be out of my apartment by the end of the week so naturally my anxiety was mounting.
Then I got the call. My mind immediately cleared and I dashed out of the office to head for Huntsville with my parents. My sister previously agreed to let me be in the room for her birth and thankfully we made the drive in plenty of time.
A few hours later, Jenna came. I’ve never witnessed a birth in person before and I must say it was one of the most beautiful and yet eye opening experiences I’ve ever had. Despite what others had told me, it didn’t send my desire to have kids fleeing for the hills. Yes there is pain {and yes there are icky parts}, but that moment when you see your baby for the first time… that moment makes it all worth it.
Welcome to the world sweet Jenna! I can’t wait to visit and hold you again!
