I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to share Molly & Brad’s epic (not a word I throw around lightly) Estes Park engagement session. That night when I climbed into bed, I could not sleep. The day kept replaying in my mind. Being in the mountains to do what I love energizes me, so watching the summer solstice sunset from Trail Ridge Road with an amazing couple = a dream.
When I first met with Molly & Brad, I asked them my usual “get to know you” questions and I loved the depth & candidness in their responses. They met through mutual friends while in undergrad at DU. Eventually their friendship progressed into more.
Molly recounted their first date. Not being sure if it was actually a date or not since they started as friends (it was). Brad felt she was the “one” all along but it wasn’t until he read the book Modern Love that he realized he should act on his vision for their future. To me, it was evident they had both really thought through their relationship.
Brad proposed back in January in the most adorable way. Molly loves the movie 10 Things I Hate About You & would tease Brad about the Heath Ledger character’s serenade on the stadium, saying, “Why don’t you do anything like that for me?” He decided to surprise her at her family’s condo in Steamboat Springs with a life-size cardboard cutout of a marching band & Franki Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” playing the background.
Heading up Trail Ridge Road
After we left Moraine Park to head up Trail Ridge Road for the sunset, we crossed these two bull elk. I love encountering wildlife on my Estes Park engagement sessions!
Before meeting up with Molly & Brad that day, I scouted this spot & knew I wanted to save it for the golden hour – the last bit of sunset light that glows so warm & beautiful. Even in my minds eye, I could not have pictured how perfect it turned out! This is what an Estes Park engagement is all about!
Long’s peak graced us with its bad self in the background.
Thanks Molly & Brad for trusting my vision & being total troopers! Can’t wait until your Bella Vista wedding in September!
And as always, thanks to my PIC Savannah Chandler for coming along!
