Snowy Colorado Mountain Engagement Photography | Colorado Winter Engagement Photos | Evergreen Colorado Engagement | Erin + Josh
When Erin first reached out that they were coming here from Dallas for some Colorado winter engagement photos, I have to admit I was pretty pumped. As a Colorado wedding photographer, I know braving the at-times-frigid cold is not everyone’s cup of tea, much less their ideal for their engagement session. But I absolutely love photographing in a snowy Colorado winter! You get photos & an experience not many others will. Plus more solitude than you would otherwise on Colorado’s busy trails.
We set a date & location up in Summit county and were ready to go, but as usual this crazy Colorado weather had other plans. Lacking snow at the time we initially talked, I had concerns we wouldn’t have powder during their trip here. As the time approached for me to meet her & Josh up in Breckenridge, a storm rolled through shutting down the tunnel the night before & the roads were iced over.
Thankfully she & Josh were returning to Colorado a few weeks later just before Christmas. We chose a spot at Three Sisters/Alderfer in Evergreen. A warmer day greeted us, but we still had a nice blanket of snow that made it a perfect spot.
Erin & Josh were happy to keep each other warm and awesome to work with, which made my job easy! They trekked a little ways into a forested area, a must-have on Erin’s list. I’m so glad we went as far as we did because it was just too perfect there.
I have to give Erin mad props for doing this set in her red dress & pumps! It definitely got a little gusty there for a bit, but she held on like a champ. As we walked back towards the car, we noticed a herd of elk had settled in the field across the street. Love it when we cross paths with wildlife!
Thanks Erin & Josh for braving the cold for this awesome winter day!
