Robyn & Rob and I almost crossed paths when they attended Meghan & Scott’s wedding back in September of 2014. They transplanted to Colorado from the same cities as Meghan & Scott, Chicago & Cincinnati respectively, and like them, met here in Denver. While we all didn’t officially meet that day, it must have been written in the stars for us to work together because they were married one year exactly to the day & I’m so grateful they had me along!
Rob proposed in October of 2014. The two are avid hikers & outdoor enthusiasts, so they planned a weekend away in Vail during the aspen’s fall colors. After enjoying a nice picnic, Robyn soon found Rob on one knee! The two were married at Evergreen Lake House out of Evergreen, Colorado the following September.

The weather that day was absolutely beautiful – not a cloud in the sky – with that perfect fall weather most couple’s hope for! Robyn got ready at the Comfort Suites Golden West in Evergreen while Rob was getting ready at the couple’s home they had just purchased months earlier.
This small clutch was made by Robyn’s mother from her confirmation dress & attached was a charm her dad had given her mom on one of their first dates!
For their first look, we headed up Stagecoach Boulevard to the off leash dog park area of Elk Meadow. Before their wedding, I had scouted a small aspen grove whose leaves were just beginning to turn yellow, which was what Rob & Robyn had hoped for! I loved their first look. The emotions on their faces says it all.
The navy & grey perfectly offset each other for their bridal party portraits taken in the Elk Meadow Park off Evergreen Highway. What a fun & great looking group!
When it came time for the ceremony, we headed to Evergreen Christian Church. It’s unique architecture allowed for light to pour in from all sides of the building.
Robyn & Rob ended the night with their reception at Evergreen Lakehouse. The walkway was surrounded by yellowing cattails & the golf course fairway next to it was a beautiful lush green so we took advantage of the area for some scenic Colorado fall & mountain photos.
When we headed for the fairway, I saw a couple who had just finished paddleboarding. Immediately I stopped them to ask if we could borrow their oars. Channeling a paddleboard version of American Gothic here!
Thanks to the lovely & talented Molly Blair Richardson for assisting me!
