Last month I was approached by the editor of Nth word magazine to feature one of my photos for their cover. I was happy to oblige!
The inspiration for this shot came from a seemingly insignificant, but pivotal scene from “Their Eyes Were Watching God” by Zora Neale Hurston, in which the main character Janie spent a spring day stretched beneath a pear tree “soaking in the alto chant of the visiting bees, the gold of the sun, and the breath of the breeze…,” when she comes to the realization that this is love.
