When I initially chat with my potential brides & grooms, I ask all kinds of questions about how they met, but it seems like I learn some of the really fun & most endearing bits during their vows and the toasts on the wedding day.
Jason & Molly met through work. Apparently none of the guys were supposed to talk to her, but Jason broke the rules and the next thing you know, we stood here on this day for their Granby ranch wedding.

This ranch has been in Jason’s family for 60+ years and it has so much fun character – an old, formerly operational Texaco station, antique trucks and tractors & a beautiful creek running through it all. A wedding photographer’s dream of course! However, nothing topped this sweet couple & the genuine emotion that coursed throughout the day.
I’m clearly obsessed with the bouquet. Oh the peonies!
Before we had a chance to photograph him with his mama, their dog Bentley got a little too excited chasing the horses and wound up having his paw stepped on. Thankfully they were able to wrap it and Molly took it all in stride like a champ!
Just as Molly’s bridesmaids were tucking the comb of her veil into her hair, the moment overcame her – what she described as “half tears & half laughter.” Ironically she hadn’t even seen what a breathtaking bride she made in the mirror yet!
In person and while editing, I could not get over what a gorgeous bride Molly made! Those eyes!
The flower girls’ dresses & boots perfectly complemented the setting.
Molly, Jason, and her dad hand made & painted the pallet signs and arch! 
The bridal party arrived at the ceremony in a shiny little surrey with fringe on the top! I grew up on the musical Oklahoma – can you tell? 😉 At the ceremony site, Molly had placed personalized handkerchiefs with the sweetest messages for their parents. 
The bridal carriage comes with the coolest of back stories. It was only ever used in one other wedding… wait for it – John Denver’s! Jason’s family purchased it from his estate.
Applause followed Jason’s vows as he breathed a sigh of relief for having made it through. And then the rain began to fall as Molly began hers and the tears all around with it.
“Do I get applause too?” Molly sweetly asked the audience after completing her vows.
As they took their first carriage ride as man & wife, the rain stopped and a rainbow appeared behind the ceremony site.
During the reception I was chatting with Molly’s dad about kids and after learning I have twin girls, he glanced over at his daughter on the dance floor and said, “I’d love to have two Mollys.”
