As I mentioned in my previous post waaay back in September, the hubby & I have relocated to Denver, Colorado! Woohoo! We’ve longed for the mountains ever since we spent three months here in ’09 & found ourselves in place to move last summer. We began looking & by the time Bryan flew out here, he had five interviews! Finally ‘bagged’ the Pikes Peak summit! After our March 2009 attempt failed due to a snowstorm, it was personal. We had to conquer this peak. I must say, not being adjusted to the altitude made this a nausea, headache-filled experience. Plus, being just shy of 13 miles one way, it’s practically a half marathon with a 7750 ft elevation gain, but we made it!
Revisited Rocky Mountain National Park. See, it’s still beautiful in case you were wondering.
Surprised ourselves with taking on a second 14er. The tallest in Colorado & second tallest in the lower 48 – Mount Elbert!
Afterwards, we drove to the Twin Lakes area to capture some of that beautiful aspen gold!
